The Lambert family takes its name from one of the most distinguished members of the Morgan breed, DANIEL LAMBERT foaled in 1858. Daniel Lambert’s dam was FANNY COOK. She was a spirited, blue-blooded mare with an extraordinary pedigree tracing to the most revered names in equine history. Fanny Cook’s half-brother Rysdyk’s Hambletonian10 was the founder of the Standardbred breed. The grand trot of the present day Lambert is derived, in part, from Fanny Cook’s heritage. Daniel Lambert’s sire, Ethan Allen, was the fastest trotting stallion in the world when alive.
