QUIETUDE ROMAN EMPIRE
(Quietude Jubilee Kingdom x Quietude Miranda)
EMPIRE, a colt foaled the first day of spring, has been sold to
Henry Fleming NC.
He will remain a stallion and be trained in dressage.
"Kingdom represented perfection to me from the moment I met him in person (I never had the pleasure of knowing Criterion, but perhaps he had the same effect on you and Shannon), and I knew I would have to have a son ultimately. There is nothing really to improve upon from Kingdom - just a matter of choosing a mare that will at best complement, or, at worst, in no way dilute, his charisma, gameness, and balance ... Miranda immediately struck me as the right mix of things -- she is so "game" for a mare ... intelligent and good, but owns her space and place in the world without apology - with a classic beauty and balance, and rare eyes that see right through you.
So I think the gods were fairly aligned on Empire,
and it could not have been any other way."~ HENRY FLEMING NC ~

QUIETUDE MANDOLIN
(Quietude Jubilee Kingdom x Quietude Madrid)
|
|
|
Hi Susan and Shannon, I have had the opportunity to ride Mandolin since Ruth has had her in town -- I can tell you she is going to be a fabulous mare in the arena and on the trails - a natural talent ... I don't know her mother well, but she certainly has a generous helping of her father in her, and I would trust her with my children already. She is as much like Kingdom as a "her" could be -- a temperament so fair it would well compensate for any physical shortcomings... except she doesn't have any, and is instead so strikingly pretty, and more so every week.
~ Henry Fleming NC ~
Susan, as you can probably tell from his notes, Henry is as crazy about Mandolin as I am. He rode her for about an hour yesterday, and told me I had better be glad he had already bought a colt, or he would be trying to take her from me. She looks sleek and is developing solid chest, shoulder, neck and hindquarter muscles. Henry did lots of long and low work with her yesterday very relaxed trot at a steady rhythm. Her new copper bit French link, with a very wide bar about as gentle as it comes seemed to work well with her. He rode her in a dressage bridle, with a flash, and she quickly adapted to that, too. She is a very quick learner, and so trusting.
