Conformation studied in isolation is merely an exercise in aesthetics. Every breeder wants beautiful movement, but beautiful movement is a higher-order function: it depends on the harmonious integration of parts, as well as on the structural excellence of the parts themselves.

THE 'CAN-DO' LAMBERTS: THE ORIGINAL AMERICAN SPORT HORSE

When Daniel Lambert was foaled in 1858 horses were true working athletes. The horse’s form followed its function, and its form was its type. Horses were required to be sound of limb, wind, and mind, and able to work hard, yet remain healthy, sound and beautiful throughout a long lifetime. It was equally important that they move well and only well conformed horses are able to move beautifully. These were the qualities of the historic Lambert Morgans. Today, the linebred clean-blooded Lambert Morgan descendants of Daniel Lambert excel in what is now called the 'Sport Morgan'.

In our thirty years of breeding Lamberts we have focused our efforts in preserving a family of superior versatile equine athletes with great consistency from generation to generation. “Sport Horse,” is a modern term. The philosophy behind it is not.

The Lambert Morgans are born with a natural frame & way of moving that makes them well suited for Dressage. These Lamberts have an inborn athletic ability, from the time they hit the ground they begin showing their natural extentions and ease of going suitable for all disciplines.
